STEFANIE KOOIJMAN
Psychologist (Currently not taking on individual patients)
Professional background and Experience
Even though I have always lived in The Hague, I managed to stay within the so called 'expat bubble'. I was born to a German mother and Dutch father and completed my education at an international school and later also completed my university degree in Clinical Psychology in the international stream of Leiden University. Thereafter I started my path of being a psychologist at the department of depression and chronobiology at one of the major mental health departments in Holland. For the past 6 years I have worked at a major mental health provider specializing in Expats. I work with adults as well as with children and adolescents.
Approach
I have a very 'go with the flow' approach to therapy and do not believe in strict protocols or sticking to a specific kind of therapy. I like to look at the client individually and pick and choose from different kinds of therapy in order to suit the specific need of the client. I hereby employ Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Schema Therapy (experiential tools) and mindfulness.
I am committed to the well-being of all my clients and make sure to come to an agreement on goals and how to get there together.
I have extensive experience treating clients with a wide range of problems such as anxiety, depression, burnout, stress, low self-esteem, self-harm, trauma, ADHD and interpersonal problems.
